A. Environmental responsibility is important at Junk South. We recycle or donate as much as possible. We are committed to improving our environmental practices and have a system to measure how many tons of waste we divert from the landfill. Junk South currently recycles and donates to the following:
A. We can take away any non-hazardous items that two people can lift, such as construction materials, renovation debris, yard waste or even an old couch or mattress. Other junk examples include: appliances, household and office junk, lumber, concrete, freezers, washers & dryers, old newspapers, computers, televisions and more. If you've got something else to remove and you don't see it on the list, that's no problem! Just let us know what it is.
A. We are not licensed to carry hazardous materials in our trucks. Please call your local city recycling center for help with disposing of any hazardous materials.
A. Junk South accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
A. Our truck team will size up your junk and review our price list with you before they begin the job.
A. Why pay for weeks of having an ugly dumpster or roll-off bin sitting outside your house or building? Instead, you can have us come with our truck and have two strong people do the labor and clean up for you. Also, you only pay for the amount of space your junk takes up in our truck - with a dumpster or roll-off bin, you pay for the whole thing, whether you fill it or not!
A. Our pricing is based on the amount of room your junk takes up in the truck and includes all the labor, hauling and landfill fees. It's very difficult to get a good idea of the amount of room your junk will take up in our truck without seeing it first. Our truck team will provide you with a free no-obligation price quote after they review your items that need to be removed.
A. This allows our drivers to be prepared for events as traffic delays or jobs that are larger than expected. Our truck team will call you 15 to 30 minutes before the time slot you have booked to provide a firm arrival time.
A. Most services that remove items for free can only take certain things in reusable condition and often leave you with unwanted items that you have to dispose of somehow on your own. For example, we are able to dispose of mattresses and others items that may not be resold or donated. Disposal of items costs us money, so does our labor and transportation of the junk.
A. Owners, trucks and employees are fully licensed and insured. Every franchise is registered and retains the necessary permits.
A. Customers should be on site when trucks arrive. We call 15 to 30 minutes before arrival to let you know we are on the way. If you are unable to be on site, the drivers review pricing on arrival and call you for confirmation. They accept credit cards over the phone.
A. Contact us and we'll be happy to discuss your options. Special arrangements can be made if required.
A. Yes. Certain items have landfill surcharges and we must charge extra for these items. These include paint, batteries, air conditioners, appliances, auto/truck tires, televisions/computer monitors and water heaters. Demolition or construction debris may also encounter a surcharge based upon the density and weight of the junk.
A. Yes. If demolition, disassembly or extensive sorting and packing is required, $50 per 1/2 hour will be charged in addition to the volume cost of the junk removal.
A. Junk South services a 20 mile radius of Athens. Anything outside of that territory is still serviceable but will encounter a travel fee of $0.85/mi.
